Welcome!

We met at the Cha Cha Lounge in Silver Lake in June of 2011. Scott was there with his brother, Rory. I (Melissa) lived next door at the time, and was there having a drink. Unbeknownst to Scott, I recognized him as a friend of a friend and proceeded to pick him up by pretending I was a psychic who knew his name. Scott was understandably freaked out, but clearly intrigued, and we ended up chatting all night! The rest is history.

It was Scott's 35th birthday and we had rented a cabin for the weekend at the beautiful Convict Lake Resort near Mammoth, California to celebrate. Scott (and Akira) had arrived the day before for what he told me was a solo camping trip, but was really preparation for the proposal! I arrived the following afternoon, and Scott immediately wanted to go on a hike around the lake, so off we went. We found a nice spot at the edge of the lake, and Scott set up a romantic picnic, complete with wine and cheese. After a few glasses, he said he had one more birthday request, and asked me to marry him. I said yes :)
